چکیده
Older drivers are more likely to have difficulty wayfinding in unfamiliar areas than younger people. The present study investigated the role of cognitive functioning and age on difficulties driving performance whilst areas. Forty-seven participants aged between 21 82 years completed a task simulator battery neuropsychological tests. was related reduced speed increased time stopped during drive. Cognitive variables associated with decrements included processing speed, visuospatial ability, aspects memory, including verbal visual immediate delayed recall. This research suggests that older drivers, particularly those poorer functioning, had drivers. findings discussed reference potential safety mobility benefits alternative strategies.

The rise in the aging driver population presents society with a significant challenge-how to maintain safety and mobility on the roads. On the one hand, older drivers pose a higher risk of an at-fault accident on a mile-for-mile basis; on the other hand, independent mobility is a significant marker of quality of life in aging. In this paper, we review the respective literatures on cognitive neu...
